i haven’t posted in a while because i haven’t felt i had anything really interesting to share. i’ve been sorta stuck in moving my tiny house build forward and being stuck is a drain for someone like me who is use to making stuff happen…

the first item on the list of being stuck is looking for a new builder. the final estimate my original builder came in with is a significant chunk of my planned build budget and i’m hoping to find someone else qualified, yet not so expensive (that won’t require i sell my soul…). so far, no luck – but i’ve got a couple of leads that seem promising (i hope). why not do it myself? because i’d like to complete this project within about 4 months not 4 years and the only thing i’ve ever built myself is a bird house in mr. colson’s class in 7th grade – and that my friends was a very long time ago. so i’m gonna keep my fingers crossed and keep looking. the second item on my list of stuck involves response time, requesting information and material quotes… here’s an example, i visited 84 lumber here locally on 11/5, after having emailed them a couple of weeks earlier (no response), to share information on my project, my interest in them becoming a sponsor and to also request that they provide a quote for my materials list – i’ve called 3 times since then just to inquire about my quote (3 different people) and have yet to receive it and today is 11/23. what happened to the courtesy of a “no, we’re not interested, no, we can’t help you or provide what you’re looking for” response? i’ve got some other ideas on this, but i’ll keep them to myself right now… 3rd and 4th on the list are that i’ve not gotten any sponsors (this would be a very nice to have) and the weather has now changed to winter, which i know will impact my build timeline…

BUT… i¬†know and am determined that this thing is gonna happen, it’s going to be amazing and it’s going to open the door (or i may have to kick in the door…) for some wonderful opportunities…
